I am very excited to kick off this new school year. This year we are going to start with a very difficult book, and a very difficult topic.
Our first sermon series is in the book of Leviticus and it is about being holy. I wanted to take the time to give you (the students and parents) an overview of this series.
Leviticus is the third book of the Bible and is written soon after God rescues his people out of their slavery in Egypt. God wants his people to be serrate, and distinct from all the other nations of the world and so, the whole point of the book of Leviticus is to teach the Israelites how to be holy or separate. God says in Lev. 19:2 “Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.”
In this series we will discuss 1. What it means to be holy, 2. Why we should seek to be holy, and 3. How we become holy.
I am very excited to kick of the year with this series!
